Discovering India, an introduction

India is one of the most colorful countries in the world.  India is one of the popular tourist destinations in Asia.  Bounded by the Himalayan ranges in the north, and surrounded on three sides by water ( the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean ), with a long history and diverse culture, India offers a wide array of places to see and things to do.  There are many places for visit.

 

There are many reasons in the world to visit in India.  It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area in whole world.  India is the Second most populous country in the world.  No other liberal democracy area in the world is as populous as India.

 

The Indian Subcontinent holidays are fascinating the world with its mystical culture and world's oldest civilization known as Indus Valley Civilization over 5000 years ago when many of the world cultures were in nomadic Society form.  India is a big place of culture and legend that never fails to captivate the imagination of the visitors.  Travel India to experience the awesome magnificence of the monuments of India.  When you Travel in India you will find a new taste and something extra on every step on account of its diversity in all realms.  Being a major tourist destination in South Asia, India attracts a large number of tourists from each and every corner of the world.  Every year tourists come for tours and Travel in India.  Some of the main reasons people choose to travel to India are because of its rich culture, dazzling deserts, captivating hill resorts, lovely beaches, beautiful landscapes, splendid monuments and many more.  The country provides some of picturesque landscapes which attract the tourists from all over the world to the country.  If you have bored from your normal daily life and looking for a relaxing and incredible destination, then you must Travel in India.

 

 

 

 

Wildlife Sancturies in India are a wildlife enthusiast's dream comes true as they provide a home to several rare and endangered species as well.  The beautiful country is the home of some of the most famous and adventurous wildlife sites in the world.  Known for their wide and unique varieties of wildlife, the National Parks and Sanctuaries, India offers the best of wildlife tours to wildlife lovers.

 

 

Facts of India :

 

India is the largest Democracy in the World.

 

The number system was invested by India.  Aryabhatta was the scientist who invented the digit zero.

 

Sushruta is the father of surgery.  2600 years ago he and health scientists of his time conducted complicated surgeries like cesareans, cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, urinary stones and even plastic surgery and brain surgery.  Usage of anesthesia was well known in ancient India.  Over 125 surgical equipment were used.  Deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, etiology, mbryology, digestion, metabolism, genetics and immunity is also found in many texts.

 

Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to humans.  Charka, the father of medicine consolidated Ayurveda 2500 years ago.  Today Ayurveda is fast regaining its rightful place in our civilization. 

 

India is one of the few countries in the World, which gained independence without using violence.

 

Sanskrit, the oldest language in the World, originated from India.  Sanskrit is considered as the mother of all higher languages.  This is because it is the most precise, and therefore suitable language for computer software. ( A report in Forbes magazine, July 1987 ).

 

The greatest games of all, CHESS and PLAYING CARDS originated from India.

 

The Art of Meditation and Yoga originated from India.

 

India has the most post offices in the world !

 

Martial Arts ( Karate and Judo ) originated from India , not China.

 

Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus are studies which originated in India.  Quadratic equations were used by Sridharacharya in the 11th century.  The largest numbers the Greeks ans Romans used were 106 whereas Hindus used numbers as big as 10*53 (i.e. 10 to the power of 53 ) with specific names as early as 5000 B.C. during the Verdic period.  Even today, the largest used number is Tera : 10*12 ( 10 to the power of 12 ).

 

The World's first University was established in Takshila, India, in 700BC.  More than 10,500 students from all over world studied more than 60 subjects.  The University of Nalanda built in the 4th century BC was one of the greatest achievements of ancient India in the field of education.

 

India has never invaded any country in the last 10,000 years of history.

 

Everything which was either discovered or invented by the Indians was cleverly denied authenticity and downplayed by those who came to rule India, the British.

 

The ancient Indian astronomers had tabulated the movement and positions of the sun, planets and the stars in space, long before Isaac Newton came up with the theory of gravity after the apple had fallen on his head.

 

USA based has proved what has been a century old suspicion in the world scientific community that the pioneer of wireless communication was

Prof. Jagdeesh Bose and not Marconi.

 

The Art of Navigation was born in the river Sindh 6000 years ago.  The very word Navigation is derived from the Sanskrit world NAVGATHI.  The word navy is also derived from Sanskrit ‘Nou'

 

Budhayana first calculated the value of “pi” and he explained the concept of what is known as the Pythagorean Theorem.  He discovered this in the 6th century long before the European mathematicians.

 

The World's highest cricket ground is in Chail, Himachal Pradesh.  Built in 1893 after leveling a hilltop, this cricket pitch is 2444 metres above sea level.

 

The largest employer in the world is the Indian Railway System, employing over a million people !

 

The Baily Bridge is the highest bridge in the world.  It is located in the Ladakh valley between the Dras and Suru rivers in the Himalayan mountains.  It was built by the Indian Army in August 1982.
